A newly-launched startup company in the US is building a smartphone app to make it easier for patients to find and participate in clinical trials. The app will use medical records and information about a person’s tumours to identify suitable trials that are taking place at hospitals near them. While the app is still in the early development phase, more than 30 cancer centres in the US, China and Singapore have already signed up to another version of the app which helps doctors and patients navigate treatment options.
