CCS adapting to COVID-19 realities to support Canadians during and after the pandemic
Finding soft tissue sarcoma early
When soft tissue sarcoma is found and treated early, the chances of successful treatment are better. Get regular health checkups and see your doctor if you have any symptoms or are worried about your health.
If you have a higher than average risk, you may need to visit your doctor more often to check for soft tissue sarcoma. You may be at a higher risk if you have:
A condition in which lymph fluid builds up in tissues, causing swelling. It may occur when lymph vessels (tubes that lymph fluid travels through) or lymph nodes are blocked, damaged or removed.
Lymphedema can be a symptom of cancer or a side effect of some cancer treatments, including surgery and radiation therapy.
