Multiple myeloma statistics
To provide the most current cancer statistics, statistical methods are used to estimate the number of new cancer cases and deaths until actual data become available.
Incidence and mortality
Incidence is the total number of new cases of cancer. Mortality is the number of deaths due to cancer.
In 2020, an estimated:
- 3,400 Canadians will be diagnosed with multiple myeloma.
- 1,600 Canadians will die from multiple myeloma.
- 2,000 men will be diagnosed with multiple myeloma and 880 will die from it.
- 1,450 women will be diagnosed with multiple myeloma and 700 will die from it.
