Laryngeal cancer statistics
To provide the most current cancer statistics, statistical methods are used to estimate the number of new cancer cases and deaths until actual data become available.
Incidence and mortality
Incidence is the total number of new cases of cancer. Mortality is the number of deaths due to cancer.
In 2020, an estimated:
- 1,150 Canadians will be diagnosed with laryngeal cancer.
- 400 Canadians will die from laryngeal cancer.
- 980 men will be diagnosed with laryngeal cancer and 330 will die from it.
- 180 women will be diagnosed with laryngeal cancer and 75 will die from it.

The 5-year cancer survival rate has increased from 25% in the 1940s to 60% today.
