13 March 2017

Toronto -

Get in sync with the first Lip Sync Heroes gala to beat cancer. The first-class event will be held on April 2, 2017 at the Carlu and hosted by the Canadian Shaare Zedek Hospital Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society in partnership .

Decided by a panel of notable judges and audience applause, this one-of-a-kind gala will have four high-profile contestants competing in an epic lip sync battle to become cancer’s unsung hero. Epic performances are expected from prominent community leaders including:

  • David Cynamon, whose middle name rhymes with competition
  • Councillor Michael Ford, whose family tree breeds fighters
  • Investment banker, Mo Lidsky who will be making it rain on stage
  • Financial guru, Adam Levy who will be working it until the mic drops.

Adam Growe from Discovery Channel’s CashCab will be hosting the event as these contestants hitting the high notes in a battle for the utlimate crown.

“Money raised through Lip Sync Heroes will change and save lives both right here in Canada and abroad in Israel,” says Councillor Michael Ford who is participating as a Lip Sync Hero in memory of his late uncle and former Mayor Rob Ford. “With Canada’s aging population expected to drive a 40% increase in cancer cases by 2030, it’s never been more urgent to support lifesaving research.”

All funds raised through Lip Sync Heroes will support the Canadian Shaare Zedek Hospital Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society for cancer research. While this is the first time the two organizations have partnered for a fundraising event, both have collaborated on an international level by making life-saving impact through investments in cancer research.
