Statement from Martin Kabat, CEO, Canadian Cancer Society, Ontario Division regarding Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s cancer diagnosis

18 September 2014

TORONTO -

Our thoughts are with Mayor Rob Ford and his family at this difficult time. We know how devastating a cancer diagnosis can be and we hope that the mayor and his family have the support they need to cope with the stress that patients and families experience.

We want the Ford family to know they can reach out to us for information and support, as all cancer patients and their families can. We wish Rob Ford a successful treatment and full recovery.

We encourage all Canadians seeking answers about cancer to call 1 888 939-3333 or visit cancer.ca.

The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) is the only national charity that supports Canadians with all cancers in communities across the country. No other organization does what we do; we are the voice for Canadians who care about cancer. We fund groundbreaking research, provide a support system for all those affected by cancer and advocate to governments for important social change.

Help us make a difference. Call 1-888-939-3333 or visit cancer.ca today.
