It's back! Sackville Relay For Life returns for 2015

30 January 2015

Halifax -

The Canadian Cancer Society, Nova Scotia Division has good news for dedicated Sackville Relay For Life participants. Due to strong community interest and a new indoor venue, the Sackville Relay For Life presented by Cars R Us will return this spring.

“With the new venue and an overwhelming amount of community support, having separate Relay locations for Dartmouth and Sackville made sense for 2015,” says Darren Brackley, Revenue Development Manager, Canadian Cancer Society, Nova Scotia Division. “Thank you to all participants that joined us at the merged Relay in Dartmouth last year. Every volunteer, participant and donor makes this event a success.”

We look forward to seeing the Sackville Relay teams working together to raise funds and awareness for this event. Each dollar you raise helps the Canadian Cancer Society have more impact, against more cancers, in more communities, across Canada. Accept the baton. Register today! Visit

The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is a non-competitive event that involves teams of up to 15 participants who take turns walking or running around a track. The event opens with a Survivors’ Victory Lap, where cancer survivors kick off the event by walking an inspirational first lap. Luminaries are lit during a moving ceremony. Their light pays tribute to loved ones and provides motivation and encouragement to participants. Each year, more than 500 communities nationwide come together to fight back by supporting Relay For Life. Relay is the largest cancer fundraiser in Canada.

The Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life of people living with cancer. Thanks to our donors and volunteers, the Society has the most impact, against the most cancers, in the most communities in Canada. Building on our progress, we are working with Canadians to change cancer forever. Make your gift today at
