05 April 2016
Toronto -
The Canadian Cancer Society was proud to present daffodil bouquets to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau last night in Ottawa. Governor General David Johnston will receive his bouquet on Wednesday, April 6, also in Ottawa.
Prime Minister Trudeau was presented with his daffodils by Pranay Agrawal, 7, and Melvic Affi, 8, both at different treatment milestones for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The pair will also present Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston with their bouquets later this week.
The daffodil bouquets were presented in honour of Daffodil Month – a month when volunteers across the country raise funds for the fight against cancer through different activities, including selling daffodil pins and flowers. Money raised during Daffodil Month helps people with cancer and their families in communities across Canada. In addition to support services, donations fund life-saving research and advocacy so that fewer Canadians are affected by the disease.
This April, join the fight. Support Canadians living with cancer during Daffodil Month. Find out more at cancer.ca/daffodil.
The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) is the only national charity that supports Canadians with all cancers in communities across the country. No other organization does what we do; we are the voice for Canadians who care about cancer. We fund groundbreaking research, provide a support system for all those affected by cancer and advocate to governments for important social change.
