Our driving program connects people who need transportation to cancer treatments with volunteer drivers. Our volunteer drivers are trained to provide safe and reliable rides to approved cancer treatment facilities.
Clients need to be referred to our volunteer driver program by a member of their healthcare team at the hospital or cancer clinic where they are receiving treatment.

Our Travel Treatment Fund offers short-term financial assistance to cover some costs of travelling to cancer treatments. This includes expenses like fuel and taxi or public transit fares. It is available to people with a low income who are currently receiving cancer treatment.
How to apply
To apply, complete and submit the following forms. (See Section 7 of the Travel Treatment Application for the address where to send your completed forms.)

Our Travel Treatment Fund provides funding to help offset your travel expenses. Funding is also available for people who need to travel to receive a bone marrow transplant. People who received cancer treatment in BC on or after April 1, 2023, and who meet eligibility criteria based on income and distance travelled can access the fund. Even if you’re travelling a short distance, financial support may still be available to help ease your travel expenses.
To apply, please use one of the following forms based on your travel distance and/or preference.
- Apply online using form A If your travel is less than 25km, complete our online form A. No healthcare sign-off is needed for this form and for distances under 25km. It’s a simple online submission sent to our team once completed. However, if you prefer to email or mail your completed form, please use form B.
Note that for distances under 25km, a healthcare sign-off is not required on form B. Please refer to Form B for specific instructions on completion and submission details.
- Apply by e-mail or mail using form B (PDF) If you wish to apply by e-mail or mail, complete our form B. You will need a healthcare professional sign-off for trips over 25km. Once completed, you can e-mail your completed application to our team at: BCTravelFund@cancer.ca or mail it to us at: Canadian Cancer Society Attn: Travel Treatment Fund (TTF) 575 W 10th Ave, Vancouver, BC V5Z 4C3.

If you live in Newfoundland and Labrador
If you live in Labrador, Air Daffodil can help you get to cancer treatments that are included under the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Care Plan (MCP). We can provide up to 3 return flights per year, which can be split between you and a family member or caregiver. This service is available to get you to appointments anywhere that PAL Airlines flies.
To qualify for this program, you will need a letter from your healthcare provider to confirm that you have an appointment at least 7 days before your requested flight. Your family member or caregiver must travel with you to and from the appointment to have their flight paid for.

Air Daffodil is available to people who need to travel 100 km or more to receive cancer treatment. We can help arrange flights and ground transportation, such as bus tickets, taxi vouchers or volunteer drivers. This service is made possible through the Northern Health Travel Grant (NHTG) program.
