Stomach cancer statistics
To provide the most current cancer statistics, statistical methods are used to estimate the number of new cancer cases and deaths until actual data become available.
Incidence and mortality
Incidence is the total number of new cases of cancer. Mortality is the number of deaths due to cancer.
In 2020, an estimated:
- 4,200 Canadians will be diagnosed with stomach cancer.
- 1,950 Canadians will die from stomach cancer.
- 2,700 men will be diagnosed with stomach cancer and 1,200 will die from it.
- 1,450 women will be diagnosed with stomach cancer and 760 will die from it.
