Kidney cancer statistics

To provide the most current cancer statistics, statistical methods are used to estimate the number of new cancer cases and deaths until actual data become available .Statistics included kidney cancer and cancer of the renal pelvis.

Incidence and mortality

Incidence is the total number of new cases of cancer. Mortality is the number of deaths due to cancer.

In 2020, an estimated:

  • 7,500 Canadians will be diagnosed with kidney and renal pelvis cancer.
  • 1,950 Canadians will die from kidney and renal pelvis cancer.
  • 4,900 men will be diagnosed with kidney and renal pelvis cancer and 1,300 will die from it.
  • 2,600 women will be diagnosed with kidney and renal pelvis cancer and 680 will die from it.
