Bladder cancer statistics

To provide the most current cancer statistics, statistical methods are used to estimate the number of new cancer cases and deaths until actual data become available.

Incidence and mortality

Incidence is the total number of new cases of cancer. Mortality is the number of deaths due to cancer.

In 2020, an estimated:

  • 12,200 Canadians will be diagnosed with bladder cancer.
  • 2,600 Canadians will die from bladder cancer.
  • 9,400 men will be diagnosed with bladder cancer and 1,850 will die from it.
  • 2,800 women will be diagnosed with bladder cancer and 720 will die from it.
