Reducing your risk for bladder cancer
You may lower your risk of developing bladder cancer by doing the following.
Be a non-smoker
Not smoking is the best way to lower your risk for bladder cancer. If you smoke, you can get help to quit.
Avoid or reduce your exposure to cancer-causing substances
Follow safety rules when you work with chemicals. Ask your employer for information about and protective equipment for working with hazardous materials.
If needed, take steps to lower high levels of arsenic in your drinking water.
