The following are treatment options for stage 0 anal cancer. Your healthcare team will suggest treatments based on your needs and work with you to develop a treatment plan.

Surgery

Surgery is the main treatment for stage 0 anal cancer found in the perianal area. A wide local excision is the most common type of surgery. It removes the tumour and a small amount of tissue around it (called the surgical margin).

If cancer cells are found in the surgical margin, you may have more surgery.
