CCS is actively monitoring and responding to the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Canada regarding coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Dan joined the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) in 2002. In his current role as Regional Executive Director for the Prairies, he leads the team and operations in Alberta, the Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Prior to CCS, Dan worked in social services at the provincial and municipal level and was an Executive Director at a Calgary-based health charity. He holds a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work from the University of Calgary.
Great progress has been made
Some cancers, such as thyroid and testicular, have survival rates of over 90%. Other cancers, such as pancreatic, brain and esophageal, continue to have very low survival rates.
