Canadian Cancer Society office in Grande Prairie closes

03 May 2017

Grande Prairie -

The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) closed its physical office space in Grande Prairie on May 2, 2017. The office is closing due to changes in the way people are accessing cancer information and support – however, cancer patients, their caregivers and families will continue to have full access to CCS support services.

“Closing the Grande Prairie office was a difficult decision, but we know that fewer people have been engaging with CCS in our physical office spaces in Grande Prairie, and in other regional offices in Alberta for the past few years,” says Chelsea Draeger, Executive Director for the Canadian Cancer Society, Alberta/NWT Division.

“In recent years, online and electronic interactions with CCS have continued to grow and people visiting our physical locations have declined significantly. Because of this, the financially responsible thing to do is close our physical space and redirect that investment to furthering our life-saving mission work: cancer prevention, research and support.”

The CCS commitment to you

While CCS’s physical office space in Grande Prairie is closing, its commitment to the community is not changing.
