Foothills Medical Centre Hostel, Calgary
Patients of the Tom Baker Cancer Centre may stay at the Foothills Medical Centre Hostel, a building that the Canadian Cancer Society helped to fund. If you stay at the hostel, you must be able to care for yourself since nursing care is not provided.
Outpatient Residence, Edmonton
The Outpatient Residence offers accommodation located near the University of Alberta Hospital, Stollery Children's Hospital and Cross Cancer Institute for outpatients and visitors.
Sorrentino’s Compassion House, Edmonton
The Compassion House Foundation provides sanctuary and support to women with breast cancer and their companions during diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
Northwest Territories accommodation
Accommodation facilities are available for people who are having cancer treatment and their escorts in the Northwest Territories. Facilities include the Lena Peterson Boarding House in Inuvik and the Kitikmeot Boarding Home and the Vital Abel House in Yellowknife. Contact the Stanton Territorial Health Authority for more information. For patients from the Northwest Territories undergoing treatment in Edmonton, accommodation may be available at Larga House.
The Government of the Northwest Territories will provide medical travel benefits to eligible persons in the Northwest Territories who must travel in order to access necessary and appropriate insured health services.
Hope Air is a national charitable organization dedicated to arranging air transportation for Canadians in financial need who require medical treatment or diagnosis not available in their home communities.
