Each month, the Canadian Cancer Society offers a free support group for people with cancer and their caregivers. Meetings are facilitated by a healthcare professional, accompanied by a trained volunteer who has personal experience dealing with cancer. The group provides a welcoming environment where people can share their own experiences and obtain practical information on all aspects of the disease.

Monthly support group for men with prostate cancer and their caregivers
Each month, we offer a free support group for men with prostate cancer and their caregivers. Meetings are facilitated by a healthcare professional, accompanied by a trained volunteer. The group offers men and their loved ones a place where they can share their concerns in subgroups and where they can obtain practical information on all aspects of the disease. This group is available in Sherbrooke and Rimouski only.

 

Visualization groups

The Canadian Cancer Society offers people with cancer a free series of 8 weekly visualization sessions. A professional from your area will lead the group in visualization and relaxation exercises, designed to help improve your overall sense of well-being.

Art expression groups

The Canadian Cancer Society offers people with cancer and their caregivers a free series of 7 weekly art workshops. These workshops are led by a professional art therapist or artist from your region with psychosocial experience. Participants are encouraged to express themselves in creative ways, a welcomed alternative to words that sometimes fail to communicate. Artistic ability is not a prerequisite.
