Practical support
The Newfoundland and Labrador Division of the Canadian Cancer Society offers practical support to cancer patients through the provision of the following items:
- Wigs
- Turbans
- Hats
- Shawls
- Temporary breast prostheses
- Mastectomy exercise kits
All items are offered free-of-charge. Items are available at all of our local regional offices.
Our Living Room
Items are also available at Our Living Room, which is a Canadian Cancer Society resource room located in the convenience of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic in St. John’s. This location has quiet and considerate atmosphere where cancer patients can receive practical assistance and emotional support from our trained volunteers and staff. Hours of operation at Our Living Room may vary throughout the week. Please call Our Living Room at (709) 777-7791 or call the Canadian Cancer Society at (709) 753-6520 to verify hours of operation.
