How we can help
If you or someone you care about has been diagnosed with cancer, you’ll have many questions and concerns. We’re here to help. We offer support and information for people with cancer and their family, friends and caregivers.
Fear, anxiety, helplessness, anger – these are feelings people can have when faced with a cancer diagnosis. But knowledge and support are power. Our services are free and confidential, and many are available in multiple languages.
Our Cancer Information Service provides answers to questions about all types of cancer, diagnostic tests, treatments, side effects, clinical trials and many other cancer-related topics.
Our CancerConnection service connects people living with cancer and caregivers with trained volunteers who offer encouragement and share ideas for coping – all from their unique perspective as someone who’s been there.
Our online community – CancerConnection.ca – helps people who have cancer, cancer survivors and caregivers share their experiences and build supportive relationships.
We can also help you find more cancer-related services in your area through our Community Services Locator – a searchable database of over 4000 cancer-related services and resources nationwide – or at one of our community offices across the country.

Look Good Feel Better workshops
Look Good Feel Better workshops help women manage the effects that cancer and cancer treatments have on their appearance. Free tools and training are provided and are designed to empower women to look and feel a little more like themselves, boosting confidence and morale.
What happens at these workshops? For 2 hours, a small group of women gather with industry-trained experts who take them through the program’s signature steps for hygiene, sun protection, nail care, skin care and hair alternatives.
These volunteers, who donate their time and expertise, understand the changes that cancer, radiation and chemotherapy can have on a woman’s appearance. Participants take home a complimentary kit of cosmetics and personal care products donated by member companies of the Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association Foundation.
