The Canadian Cancer Society New Brunswick assists people who have cancer with ground transportation costs for cancer treatments (chemotherapy and radiation). Transportation costs outside New Brunswick may also be considered for treatments that are not available in the province.
Residents of New Brunswick who have been diagnosed with cancer and who are in financial need are encouraged to apply.
To apply, print a copy of our Supportive Care Programs and Services Application or call 1-800-455-9090 to request an application.
The Canadian Cancer Society New Brunswick also works with Easter Seals NB to cover the cost of up to 2 pieces of equipment for people with cancer in financial need. We may also assist someone with requests other than transportation and equipment. These are examined on an individual basis and funded when possible.
Practical support items that are available free of charge include:
- temporary breast forms
Great progress has been made
Some cancers, such as thyroid and testicular, have survival rates of over 90%. Other cancers, such as pancreatic, brain and esophageal, continue to have very low survival rates.
