July 2014 - 75 new Society-funded grants and awards announced

New grants in five programs started August 1

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, an exemplary collection of creative proposals submitted by researchers across the country, and the hard work and dedication of expert peer reviewers and CCSRI staff, we are pleased to announce 75 new projects, which all started August 1:

  • 10 Prevention Research Grants
  • 6 Capacity Development Awards in Prevention
  • 4 Knowledge to Action Grants
  • 4 Innovation to Impact Grants
  • 51 Innovation Grants

We’re proud to award new funding to 37 principal investigators in Ontario (1 who was awarded both a Prevention Research Grant and an Innovation Grant), 19 in Quebec, 13 in BC, 2 in Alberta, 2 in Manitoba and 1 in Newfoundland and Labrador. This is a commitment of $18 million over the next 4 years to fund the best cancer research in the country – research that will change how cancer is prevented, diagnosed and treated and will help people live healthier, longer lives after a cancer diagnosis.
