I wanted to take charge of my health and make informed decisions.

Sharon Sandhawalia of Windsor, Ontario, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. She says she “felt anxious and weighed down by questions and concerns,” so she contacted the Cancer Information Service.

Many cancer patients are overwhelmed by their diagnosis and need to find reliable information about what they can expect. Our Cancer Information Service provides reliable current information about all types of cancers and their treatments, and helps connect people to local support programs available in their community.

“I wanted to take charge of my health and make informed decisions. When I used the Cancer Information Service, I felt like I could ask anything and get accurate answers,” Sharon says.

She hopes that others like her will find help through the service.
