Why volunteer?

Volunteering with the Society is a great opportunity for you to make a positive impact in your community, be part of a team, share your experience, learn new skills and develop lasting friendships. Volunteers are critical to our accomplishments and we wouldn’t be able to support, inform and empower those touched by cancer without you.

When you join our nationwide team, you have the combined strength of volunteers from across the country standing behind you to help you make a difference in someone’s life.

Register online at our Online Volunteer Centre and you'll be able to access a multitude of volunteer positions, check out our events calendar, sign up to attend a volunteer orientation, and much more.

Once you are registered, you can create your own Canadian Cancer Society volunteer experience in our site. You can volunteer when, where, and how you like, share with friends, search for matching positions based on your preferences, sign up for events, log your volunteer time, and review your history.

About 17,000 people in British Columbia and the Yukon lend their hands and hearts to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life of people living with cancer.
