Why volunteer?

Volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society is a great opportunity for you to make a positive impact in your community, be part of a team, share your experience, learn new skills and develop lasting friendships. Volunteers are critical to our accomplishments and we wouldn’t be able to support, inform and empower those touched by cancer without you.

When you join our nationwide team, you have the combined strength of volunteers from across the country standing behind you to help you make a difference in someone’s life.

Volunteer for Daffodil Month

Volunteers are urgently needed in April. When you volunteer just a few hours of your time during Daffodil Month, you help save lives and support people who are living with cancer. Volunteering is a small gesture that makes an enormous difference.

Local Opportunities

To volunteer within Alberta and the Northwest Territories, please apply one of the following two ways:

  1. Complete and submit our online application form.
  2. Print and complete the PDF application form and submit to your local Canadian Cancer Society office.

CIBC Run for the Cure

Planning and organizing the Run takes time, passion and creative thinking. In partnership with volunteers and staff, you could be part of something truly extraordinary in your community. Be a part of this national event where success depends on local leadership. With your community insight, you will raise awareness, encourage participation, and drive fundraising results. This year's Run is on September 30.
