Drive people
As a volunteer driver, you will pick up people receiving cancer treatment from their home and take them to their treatment centre. You’ll be there to offer assistance at a time when they need it the most. And when their treatment is done, you’ll make sure they get home safely. With the kindness and support of volunteer drivers, people with cancer can focus on getting through their treatment.
The Canadian Cancer Society Volunteer Driver Program operates in Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge. It relies on a dedicated team of volunteers who donate their time and vehicles to transport patients for active treatment at approved cancer treatment facilities.
To become a volunteer driver in Calgary, Edmonton or Lethbridge, please apply one of the following two ways:
- Complete and submit our online application form.
- Print and complete the PDF application form and submit to your local Canadian Cancer Society office.
Your volunteer application will be reviewed and you will be contacted shortly by one of our Volunteer Resources coordinators. Please note that if you are under 18 years of age, you must obtain parental consent.
You may also call our support service volunteer coordinator directly at 403-303-3529 or volunteer@cancer.ab.ca.
