Show your support of those battling cancer today and remember those we have lost to cancer.
Daffodil Day is April 27, 2013
As part of the annual Daffodil Month activities, the Canadian Cancer Society has designated April 27, 2013 as Daffodil Day. This is a special day when Canadians can show their support for those living with cancer and to remember those who have died.
On this important day we encourage Canadians to do something special for those living with cancer or to contribute in some way to the fight against this disease. For example:
Tell a loved one or friend with cancer that you are thinking of them; let them know about the Society’s information and support programs.
Do something special for someone you know with cancer (for example, make a meal, do an errand, babysit).
Talk with your provincial or local politicians about the importance of fighting back against cancer and tell them how they can join the Society in this fight.
Visit fightback.ca for additional information about Daffodil Month and Daffodil Day activities in communities throughout Ontario.
Residential canvass
Because cancer is in your community, so are we.
Every April, during Daffodil Month, Canadian Cancer Society volunteers in many communities across the province go door to door to collect donations for the fight against cancer.
The money raised through the door-to-door campaign helps the Canadian Cancer Society fund life-saving research and vital support services for people living with cancer. If a volunteer knocks on your door this April, please give generously.
Volunteer this spring
This April, when you spend three hours canvassing door to door in your community, you’ll be helping us fight cancer by funding life-saving cancer research and vital community-based support services. It’s just three hours for you, but a lifetime to a cancer survivor. Join today.

I canvass because...
We asked Canadian Cancer Society volunteer canvassers from across Ontario why they knock on neighbourhood doors in their community every April during Daffodil Month and here’s what they had to say:
“We have hope that research in science will find a cure for cancer.” – Joanne Eagles, Hamilton
“It is the one way I can contribute to my community for a cause that is important to me.” – Joy, Barrie
“Cancer has touched my life. It is the least I can do.” – Michelle Landriault, Lakefield
“For all the help that the Society gives to people living with cancer throughout the whole year.” – Diane, Thunder Bay
“Have had friends and family affected by cancer. I see the help the Canadian Cancer Society has in assisting patients and is a good support network.” – Norm, Timmins
“Cancer touches everyone …” – Irene, Petawawa
How to recognize our volunteers at your door
When our canvassers come knocking in April, look for these materials to ensure they are Canadian Cancer Society volunteers. When you make a donation you will receive a daffodil pin. Please wear it to show your support. Thank you.
