Daffodil Month

Wear a daffodil pin and show your support for people living with cancer.

Every 3 minutes another Canadian is faced with fighting cancer. Throughout April, volunteers across Canada will be working together to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.

There are many ways to join the fight against cancer this April:

  • Wear a daffodil pin for a donation.
  • Make a donation when a volunteer knocks on your door.
  • Volunteer as little as 3 hours of your time.
  • Spread the word.

Show support and make a difference in your own way – no matter how big or small.

Visit fightback.ca to find out where to get your daffodil pin and for information about Daffodil Month activities in communities throughout Canada.

Daffodil Days – March 22–30, 2013

Every Spring, Canadian Cancer Society volunteers are busy delivering and selling bright, yellow daffodils to help raise money in support of the fight against cancer. The daffodil is the Canadian Cancer Society’s symbol of hope. The cheerful blooms are sold every year and mark the beginning of Daffodil Month.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We are currently recruiting volunteers to help with the Daffodil Days campaign. You can support those living with cancer in Newfoundland and Labrador by helping sell daffodil flowers. We need individuals and community groups to get involved with bringing these flowers of hope to our province. We can’t do it without you!

HOW CAN I HELP?

1. Check to see if someone is already organizing a sale of daffodils in your community or workplace.

2. If someone isn’t selling daffodils in your community or workplace contact your local Canadian Cancer Society office to become a community/workplace champion.

3. Workplace Orders – St. John’s Metro Area - interested in placing a workplace order and having them delivered to your workplace? Download a workplace order form (PDF) for delivery within the St. John’s Metro area. Note: Orders need to be submitted by Monday, March 18, 2013.

4. Restaurant Orders – Across Newfoundland and Labrador - interested in placing an order for your restaurant? Restaurant orders include a vase and a daffodil pin with each bunch of daffodils ordered. One bunch of flowers including a vase & pin cost $12.00. Download a restaurant order form (PDF) and place your order today! Note: Orders need to be submitted by February 15, 2013.

5. Buy daffodils at an OUTLET NEAR YOU. ($9 per bunch of 10, including a daffodil pin).

National Daffodil Day – April 27, 2013

April 27th is Daffodil Day, a time when Canadians unite to show their support of people living with cancer and remember loved ones lost to the disease

• Daffodil Day is the highlight of our Daffodil Month activities

• On Daffodil Day, we ask that you take a moment to reflect upon the thousands of Canadians who are on a cancer journey and remember those we’ve lost to the disease

• By making a donation and wearing the daffodil pin, you can show people living with cancer that they’re not alone in the fight and we won’t stop fighting until all forms of the disease are defeated

• Get involved this Daffodil Day – wear a daffodil pin, attend various events in your community, do something special for someone living with cancer, or become a volunteer and help raise awareness.
