Daffodil Month

Wear a daffodil pin and show your support for people living with cancer.

Every 3 minutes another Canadian is faced with fighting cancer. Throughout April, volunteers across Canada will be working together to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.

There are many ways to join the fight against cancer this April:

  • Wear a daffodil pin for a donation.
  • Make a donation when a volunteer knocks on your door.
  • Volunteer as little as 3 hours of your time.
  • Spread the word.

Show support and make a difference in your own way – no matter how big or small.

Visit fightback.ca to find out where to get your daffodil pin and for information about Daffodil Month activities in communities throughout Canada.

Wear a daffodil pin in April as a visible symbol that you have joined the fight to beat cancer – the disease that takes 8 Manitobans from us every day.

Last year, thousands of Manitobans donned the bright yellow lapel pins that are symbols of hope and determination, showing support for people with cancer and honouring those who have been lost to the disease. It’s a way for everyone to come together in April and fight back against all cancers.

Daffodil pins are available for a small donation at hundreds of locations in more than 100 communities throughout Manitoba, including all TD Canada Trust locations.

To find a pin location near you or to make a donation, visit www.fightback.ca.

Ways you can make a difference

You can advance the fight against cancer throughout Daffodil Month by:

  • engaging other Manitobans in Daffodil Month by putting a daffodil pin box in a high-traffic area at your workplace – just call 1-888-532-6982, and we’ll get you a box
  • donating to the Society when a volunteer canvasser knocks at your door
  • volunteering with the Society

In Manitoba – in addition to wearing a daffodil pin – we’re asking people to consider doing something special for people living with cancer or to further the fight against cancer.

You can advance the fight against cancer on Daffodil Day by:

  • telling someone with cancer that you are thinking about them and that they are loved
  • running an errand for them
  • cleaning their house for them
  • babysitting for them
  • cooking a special meal for them
  • doing anything you can think of to help someone with cancer!

Door-to-door campaign

Better watch your back, cancer. Let’s just say we know people. Lots of people.

Over 5,000 volunteers are fanning out across the province this April to knock on doors to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society’s fight against cancer. Please give generously when a volunteer canvasser comes to your door!

For more than 50 years, our annual door-to-door campaign has been one of the Society’s largest fundraising efforts. Last year, more than $700,000 was raised for the fight against cancer in Manitoba.

Thank you to our dedicated volunteers for your gift of time and to our donors for your generosity. We are still in need of volunteers to help make the campaign a success.

For more information about the door-to-door campaign or to get involved, call Lynda in Winnipeg at 204-786-0619 or 1-888-532-6982. For the Brandon area, call 204-571-2800 or 1-888-857-6658.
