Cops for Cancer

First responders across the province play a leadership role in organizing the Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer events by involving the community in fundraising and cancer awareness activities. The events range from head shaves in public places to participating in bike rides to organizing various school-based fundraising activities. To raise funds in the fight against cancer, event participants collect pledges from their co-workers, friends, family and community members.

Police officers across the province play a leadership role in organizing the Canadian Cancer Society's Cops for Cancer events by involving the community in fundraising and cancer awareness activities.

Police officers and supportive citizens – both men and women – raise funds in a variety of ways. They may shave their heads and collect pledges from co-workers, friends and family. They may seek pledges for participation in grueling Ironman or marathon events. Golf tournaments, softball tournaments, BBQs, car washes, road races and coin collections are other ways to have fun and raise funds.

  • British Columbia and Yukon

Cops for Cancer is an exciting annual event that takes place each fall, when over a hundred law enforcement and emergency services personnel from across the province brave all types of weather as they cycle up to two weeks across the daunting terrain of Vancouver Island, Northern BC, the coast of British Columbia and the Fraser Valley.

Why? Because the impact of cancer on the life of a child and their family is devastating. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society through Cops for Cancer are used to fund life-saving research and caring programs like Camp Goodtimes to reduce its impact on families.
