Statistics for pituitary gland cancer are not reported separately but are included in the general category other endocrine cancers. This broad category includes pituitary gland and similar cancers together. So the numbers do not necessarily show the new cases (incidence) and deaths (mortality) specifically for pituitary gland cancer.

Incidence and mortality

Incidence is the total number of new cases of cancer. Mortality is the number of deaths due to cancer.

  • 355 Canadians were diagnosed with other endocrine cancers.
  • 185 men were diagnosed with other endocrine cancers.
  • 165 women were diagnosed with other endocrine cancers.
The most recent mortality statistics for other endocrine cancers are from 2022:
  • 88 Canadians died from other endocrine cancers.
  • 43 men died from other endocrine cancers.
  • 45 women died from other endocrine cancers.
