Neuroendocrine tumour (NET) statistics

In Canada, specific cancer statistics are not reported for neuroendocrine tumours (NETs). They are most often included with the statistics based on where the tumour started.

Gastrointestinal (GI) NETs are included in the statistics for GI cancers, such as the small intestine, colon or rectum, or stomach.
Lung NETs are included with statistics for lung cancer.
Pancreatic NETs are included with pancreatic cancer statistics.
Some NETs are included in the general category of other endocrine cancers.

Because NETs can be reported with many different cancers, it is hard to provide accurate Canadian statistics.
