VOLUNTEERS ARE URGENTLY NEEDED IN APRIL
Multiple myeloma statistics
To provide the most current cancer statistics, statistical methods are used to estimate the number of new cancer cases and deaths until actual data become available.
Incidence and mortality
Incidence is the total number of new cases of cancer. Mortality is the number of deaths due to cancer.
It is estimated that in 2016:
- 2,700 Canadians will be diagnosed with multiple myeloma.
- 1,450 Canadians will die from multiple myeloma.
- 1,600 men will be diagnosed with multiple myeloma and 800 will die from it.
- 1,150 women will be diagnosed with multiple myeloma and 640 will die from it.

Volunteering during Daffodil Month is an incredibly rewarding experience, whether you have been touched by cancer or not.
Help for smokers trying to quit
It’s okay to need help to quit smoking. The Canadian Cancer Society is here to support people who are ready to quit and even those people who aren’t ready.
