Liver cancer statistics
To provide the most current cancer statistics, statistical methods are used to estimate the number of new cancer cases and deaths until actual data become available.
Incidence and mortality
Incidence is the total number of new cases of cancer. Mortality is the number of deaths due to cancer.
In 2017, an estimated:
- 2,500 Canadians were diagnosed with liver cancer.
- 1,200 Canadians died from liver cancer.
- 1,900 men were diagnosed with liver cancer and 950 died from it.
- 580 women were diagnosed with liver cancer and 270 died from it.
