Eye cancer statistics
It can take several years to collect and confirm cancer data, so the number of new cancer cases and deaths from recent years may not be available for some time. The most recent data available are provided below.
Incidence and mortality
Incidence is the total number of new cases of cancer. Mortality is the number of deaths due to cancer.
The most recent incidence and mortality statistics for eye cancer are from 2013:
- 335 Canadians were diagnosed with eye cancer.
- 56 Canadians died from eye cancer.
- 175 men were diagnosed with eye cancer and 23 died from it.
- 160 women were diagnosed with eye cancer and 33 died from it.

Even though we are high school students, we were able to raise so much money for the Canadian Cancer Society. It just goes to show what can happen when a small group of people come together for a great cause.
Making progress in the cancer fight
The 5-year cancer survival rate has increased from 25% in the 1940s to 60% today.
