Bladder cancer statistics

To provide the most current cancer statistics, statistical methods are used to estimate the number of new cancer cases and deaths until actual data become available.

Incidence and mortality

Incidence is the total number of new cases of cancer. Mortality is the number of deaths due to cancer.

In 2017, an estimated:

  • 8,900 Canadians were diagnosed with bladder cancer.
  • 2,400 Canadians died from bladder cancer.
  • 6,700 men were diagnosed with bladder cancer and 1,700 died from it.
  • 2,200 women were diagnosed with bladder cancer and 680 died from it.
