    These infographics were developed to support activities related to breast cancer awareness month (BCAM) in 2017.

    1 in 8 Canadian women will develop breast cancer
    5-year breast cancer survival rate in Canada – in the 1980s 73% and today (2006-2008) 87%
    Early detection + better therapies = 44% decrease in the breast cancer death rate since 1988
    Between 2015 and 2030, the number of breast cancer diagnoses is estimated to increase by 25% (due mainly to the aging population)
