Gilles Marcotte holds a Master degree in Commerce from Université de Sherbrooke and is a member of Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec. He is a retired associate from KPMG, an expert accounting firm. From November 2005 to October 2009, he was a municipal councillor in Quebec City and President of Réseau de transport de la Capitale.
Mr Marcotte has always been involved in the community. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Québec-Est. He has chaired the boards of directors of Caisse populaire Desjardins in Charlesbourg and Orchestre symphonique de Québec.

Clinical trial discovery improves quality of life
A clinical trial led by the Society’s NCIC Clinical Trials group found that men with prostate cancer who are treated with intermittent courses of hormone therapy live as long as those receiving continuous therapy.
