David became involved with the Central West Region of the Canadian Cancer Society in the summer of 2002, where he went on to serve as Regional President from 2004 to 2006. He has been on the Ontario Division Board since 2004 and served as the Ontario Division representative to the National Board of Directors from 2008 to 2011. He also served on the National Governance Committee in 2008 and 2009. David joined the Board of Directors of Cancer Care Ontario in April 2011.
Over the past 25 years, David has served in executive and ownership roles in manufacturing for North American and global construction markets.
David enjoys cycling, pursuing his interests as a field naturalist and spending time with his amazing grandchildren.
Clinical trial discovery improves quality of life
A clinical trial led by the Society’s NCIC Clinical Trials group found that men with prostate cancer who are treated with intermittent courses of hormone therapy live as long as those receiving continuous therapy.
