2013 Daffodil Ball

15 February 2013

Moncton -

The Canadian Cancer Society New Brunswick is pleased to announce that Angry Candy will provide the entertainment at the eighth annual Daffodil Ball. The gala will be held Saturday, April 6 at Moncton’s Delta Beausejour Hotel.

“Angry Candy is one of New Brunswick’s most loved musical acts and we’re very excited to have booked the group as our entertainment this year,” said Patricia Harknett, Chair of the 2013 Daffodil Ball.

Harknett added that she thinks the popular band, which was named runner-up on the television show ‘Canada’s Got Talent’ last year, will draw more attendees to the ball. “As always, our goal is to raise funds and awareness for cancer research in this province. Angry Candy will help us do that.” As in previous years, the committee expects to draw more than 400 attendees.

Cancer is the leading cause of premature death in Canada. In 2012, an estimated 4,900 New Brunswickers were diagnosed with cancer and about 1,910 died from the disease. Money raised from the Daffodil Ball and other Canadian Cancer Society events is invested in cancer research, as well as programs and services for New Brunswick residents.

The 2013 Daffodil Ball will feature a five-course meal prepared by renowned chef Stefan Müller, superb entertainment and an experience unlike any other in the province.

The Canadian Cancer Society is a national community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer.
