Volunteer opportunities

Volunteering with the Society is a great opportunity for you to make a positive impact in your community, be part of a team, share your experience, learn new skills and develop lasting friendships. Volunteers are critical to our accomplishments and we wouldn’t be able to support, inform, and empower those touched by cancer without you.

When you join our nationwide team, you have the combined strength of volunteers from across the country standing behind you to help you make a difference in someone’s life.

DRIVERS - Wheels Of Hope Program

The road to recovery needs more drivers …with the kindness and support of volunteer drivers, cancer patients only need to worry about getting better and beating cancer for good.

As a volunteer driver, you’ll pick patients up from their home and take them to their attending hospital or regional cancer centre. You’ll be there to offer friendly support and kindness at a time when they need it the most. And when their treatment is done, you’ll make sure they get home. You can drive as suits your schedule, from Monday to Friday.

Please call the Wellington County office: (519) 824-4261 or e-mail for more information: saraorrell@ontario.cancer.ca

PEER SUPPORT - Volunteer Survivors

Provide peer support over the telephone and/or in person to clients who are dealing with their cancer diagnosis or are caregivers to someone with cancer.

Please call the Wellington County office: (519) 824-4261 or e-mail for more information: saraorrell@ontario.cancer.ca

RELAY FOR LIFE – June 3 2016

Throughout June, thousands of people across Ontario will walk or run together around a track or path at a school, park or fairground, at one of our local Relay For Life events.  In doing so, they will pass a baton to their fellow participants working together towards one common goal: to save lives by going the distance. Give a few hours to the fight against cancer and create memories that last a lifetime! On the day of the event, there are many ways you can volunteer your time.
