Are you looking to jump into the world of fundraising and event planning? Gain valuable experience by executing a fundraising event for the Canadian Cancer Society!

From cook-offs to karaoke nights, dance-a-thons to dinner parties, any activity you already love doing can become a fundraiser.  Big or small, casual or formal, YOU decide what you want your event to look like.  From there, you will be put in contact with a Canadian Cancer Society staff member who will act as your guide, answer your questions, and arm you with fundraising tools and tips for a successful event.

Best of all, you can feel confident in knowing that every dollar you raise is helping us fund life-saving cancer research and valuable support services for Canadians living with cancer.

  • Prevention and Screening

    Get Screened

Get Screened aims to increase colon, breast/chest and cervical cancer screening rates for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer communities in Ontario. We are looking for volunteers!

If you are interested in helping to spread the word about cancer screening in LGBTQ communities, please contact

Check out our Facebook page for upcoming workshops on cancer screening at and check out our website at

  • Screening Saves Lives

Screening Saves Lives is off to a great start in Thorncliffe Park in east Toronto.

Eight South Asian community members received training in December to discuss the importance of early detection and screening for colon, breast and cervical cancer with their families, friends and networks.

Thorncliffe Park screening rates are below City of Toronto averages and newcomer South Asian communities living in Thorncliffe Park encounter barriers to getting screened such as limited knowledge, lack of culturally-appropriate materials, and fear of emotional or physical discomfort about tests.

Screening Saves Lives volunteers help to address these barriers by leveraging the power of peer influence and credibility within their communities.
