After a thorough review of our local operations, we have decided to close the Happy Valley–Goose Bay office and explore new, progressive ways to engage with the community. We remain committed to working with our existing volunteers and connecting with new volunteers to deliver our mission.
People facing cancer and the general public in Happy Valley–Goose Bay will continue to have full access to all our support services, such as Air Daffodil, Daffodil Place, Cancer Information, and practical and emotional supports. We continue to encourage anyone facing cancer or anyone with questions about cancer or our organization to contact 1-888-753-6520 or visit cancer.ca.
Even though we are high school students, we were able to raise so much money for the Canadian Cancer Society. It just goes to show what can happen when a small group of people come together for a great cause.
What’s the lifetime risk of getting cancer?
The latest Canadian Cancer Statistics report shows about half of Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
