If you or someone you care about has been diagnosed with cancer, you probably have many questions and concerns. The Canadian Cancer Society is here to help. We offer support for people living with cancer, their caregivers, family and friends.

 

We are committed to serving your needs, whether you are living with cancer or if your life has been touched by it some other way. The Canadian Cancer Society, Alberta/NWT Division, offers a wide range of supportive care services.

Here’s how we help people living with cancer

 

Peer support programs

Peer Support programs are designed to put you in touch with someone who has already been through what you are facing. Volunteers are trained to listen, provide emotional support and share practical insights about living with cancer. Support is available in several forms. Find out which one is right for you.


Transportation assistance

Having trouble getting to and from cancer-related treatment? We can help.


Financial Assistance Program

The Canadian Cancer Society may be able to cover some of your travel and accommodation costs while you are receiving treatment.


 

Westin Hotel Program

Need a place to stay for cancer-related treatment? The Westin Hotel, in Calgary and Edmonton, provides free night stays for patients receiving active treatment. Rooms are subject to availability.

Hospice palliative care resources

Find local resources that provide healthcare and other needed services to patients nearing the end of life.

 

Cancer Information Service

The Canadian Cancer Society offers a national, bilingual, toll-free cancer information service to patients, their families, the general public and healthcare professionals. Order your free magnet so you will always have our number when you need it.
