We are a community-based organization, with volunteers and staff working to make cancer history at the grassroots level in communities across Canada. Our efforts in the Alberta/NWT Division include organizing awareness and fundraising events, collecting donations, supporting advocacy campaigns, providing programs and services such as emotional support to patients and their families, and many other activities.

 

The Alberta/NWT Division of the Canadian Cancer Society is divided into 10 local units. For more information about our supportive care services, volunteer opportunities and special events in your community, please check local listings found on the right hand side.

Contacting our national office

Public accountability for the organization rests at the national level. Nationally, our efforts are led by a volunteer Board of Directors, made up of 18 representatives from across Canada. Led by CEO Dr. Barbara Whylie, national senior staff members lead teams of committed and caring staff and provide support to the national board in carrying out our goals.
