Door-to-door canvass

Volunteer in your neighbourhood

This April, be part of one of the Canadian Cancer Society’s most successful fundraising events. We’re looking for volunteers to fill a number of positions for our residential canvass including:

  • canvassers
  • team captains
  • zone captains

Many community campaigns also require individuals to fill the positions of:

  • unit residential chair
  • area captains

Get to know your neighbours by donating your time. Contact your local Canadian Cancer society office to find out more about the Society’s residential canvass, these volunteer opportunities and how you can become involved with the residential canvass.

Visit our volunteer section.

Welcome your Canadian Cancer Society volunteers when they knock at your door this April.

Every April, you’ll hear a knock on your door when volunteer Canadian Cancer Society canvassers visit to raise money for the fight against cancer.

The door-to-door canvass is one of the Society’s longest running and most successful fundraising events; it has been a springtime tradition since 1940.

Funds raised through canvassing enable the Canadian Cancer Society to:

  • fund excellence in research on all types of cancer
  • advocate for healthy public policy
  • promote healthy lifestyles to help reduce cancer risk
  • provide information about cancer
  • support people living with cancer

Canvassing in local neighbourhoods also helps the Canadian Cancer Society enhance our presence in the community by providing information about our programs and services.

How to recognize our volunteers at your door

Our volunteer canvassers carry a special canvass kit and an official nametag.

Your donation is tax deductible and you will receive an official tax receipt from the canvasser at the door.

Thank you for your support. Together, we can make cancer history!
