I wish I could talk to someone…

A cancer experience can be a life-altering experience and coping can be stressful. We’re here to help and support you and your family from the time you’re diagnosed, throughout your treatment and after treatment is completed.

The Society’s trained volunteers draw upon their own cancer experience to offer encouragement, compassion and helpful information to adults living with cancer and those caring for a loved one with cancer.

Call us at 1 800 263-6750, TTY 1 866-786-3934, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Support is available in English, French in many other languages, including access to an interpreter service.

One to One Peer Support
Connect to the cancer survivor or caregiver who most closely resembles your experience. We search nationwide for volunteers who most closely resemble your cancer diagnosis and personal experiences. These volunteers will then support you over the phone at times that are convenient to you. This service is also referred to as CancerConnection.

Meet with a cancer survivor. Our trained volunteers understand what it is like to live with cancer in your community. They can provide you with helpful pamphlets and up-to-date information for you and your family.

As additional support to women with breast cancer, the Society is pleased to provide an information kit which includes a temporary prosthesis and pillow.

Group Support

Meet with other patients and caregivers in a group setting. The Society also offers adult groups in many communities across Ontario. Trained volunteers facilitate educational and informal discussions to help people living with cancer and their caregivers. The types of groups available in each area may vary. Some groups are specific to one type of cancer, while others may offer general support for people living with cancer.
