Head for a Cure
Head shaves or hair cuts are one of the most popular ways to fundraise for the Canadian Cancer Soceity.

 

 


Step-by-step guide:Donate to a community fundraiser

  • To register your event, please submit the Fundraising Event Form.
  • You must first decide if to do a group or individual event. For groups recruit friends, school mates, family, or work colleagues willing to share their head, cut their hair or shave their beards.
  • Establish a reasonable fundraising goal.
  • Determine the date, time, and location for your event.
  • Find a hairstylist to cut hair.
  • Start collecting donations. (pledge sheets available)
  • Get creative and brainstorm some additional ways to raise revenue.
  • Promote your event among your family, friends, coworkers, colleagues, your community and your local media.
  • Remember to take lots of photos!
  • Collect your funds and submit them to you our office.
  • Be sure to thank everyone who volunteered, assisted and/or donated.

How to prepare hair for donation

If you would like to donate your hair to help make wigs for people living with cancer , please follow these instructions:

  • it must be clean, dry and not swept off the floor
  • it must be a minimum length of 8 inches (25 cm)
  • it should not be chemically treated (bleach, colour or perm)
