Supervision & Accommodations
There are 2 basic types of volunteers who stay onsite for the duration of each session: Skips & Nooks.
Nooks: are a diverse group of specialized volunteer staff (lifeguards, nurses, doctors, arts & crafts, dining hall team, program staff, directors, and other leaders). In their off-time, Nooks are able to spend time at activities with any cabin group (and at the beginning of Kids’ Camp weeks, Nook may choose to be ‘adopted into’ a particular cabin group).
Skips: are our ‘camp counsellors.’ Each of our programs demands different expectations of our Skips. At Kids’ Camps, Skips are safety minded, ensure campers are having fun, and supervise campers 24 hours a day. At Teen program, the Skips’ role is similar, except they work with middle and high school aged people. And at Family Program, our Hosts (previously known as Skips) are like family liaisons who assist a great deal with program activities.
