We need volunteer drivers
The transportation program, provided in partnership with the Freemasons of BC & the Yukon, needs more drivers. This service is provided in Greater Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, the Interior and Vancouver Island.

Door to door canvass
It’s easy to take steps towards making cancer history. Join more than 12,000 Canadian Cancer Society, B.C. and Yukon Division volunteers in over 80 communities and knock on your neighbours’ doors this April to raise funds for cancer research and community-based support programs.
Prevention
Promote key messages and activities on prevention and early detection by:
increasing awareness of cancer risk factors and healthy options in your community by using Canadian Cancer Society health promotion support materials and resources;
supporting health promotion theme month/week activities
facilitating interactive workshops and displays to groups on risk factors and creating positive change.
Advocacy
Support our advocacy efforts by:
increasing awareness of the importance of how public policy and decisions of legislators affects cancer and health in your community;
advocating for strong disease prevention policies and equitable access to medications and treatments;
advocating for healthy public policies at local and provincial levels;
influencing policy development

Share information about Society Programs and Services:
Support our community offices to share information about the Society's range of services, support and volunteer opportunities.
Support
Help people cope with cancer through practical and peer support:
providing one on one peer support to newly diagnosed cancer patients and/or their caregivers. If you are a cancer survivor and are now willing to share your experiences with others who are going through it then this is for you. For more details, please review the information on our peer support programs.
transporting cancer patients to and from treatment-related appointments. If you have a safe driving record and a reliable vehicle, you can make a big difference.
joining our multi-talented team creating a home away from home for people staying at our lodges while receiving cancer treatment. Friendly caring souls will shine in their volunteer roles here.
meeting with cancer patients and their families to determine eligibility for emergency financial assistance with treatment-related expenses. A focus on details and compassion are a must!
joining our dynamic team of camp volunteers who create memorable experiences for children and teens affected by cancer.
Organizational support
Be part of the team behind the scenes making it all possible:
providing leadership, inspiration and guidance to other volunteers in your community. If you are organized, can facilitate meetings and be the glue for a team, this is for you.
organizing and supporting our many fundraising activities and special events. It can take as little as only a few hours a year!
offering administrative support in our offices. Duties may include responding to public inquiries, entering data, and filing. If you are well-organized consider joining our front lines.
recruiting, interviewing and welcoming new volunteers. This is a perfect role for people-people!
